Susi. Die Enkelin von Haus Nummer Vier.
Based on the book by Birgitta Behr
When a suitcase tells the story of the Nazi era, it could tell of flight, deportation, few possessions, great fear, danger, going into hiding, and extermination. When a hairbrush tells the story of this era, it could tell of a remnant of dignity during the war, of care and love.
Based on true events, the Nazi era comes to life. Susi is a Jewish girl who, along with her family, finds herself in increasing danger under National Socialism. Susi and her parents go into the underground, find places to hide, but still live in constant danger. They survive, Susi’s grandmother, however, is deported and killed.
Using a puppet, objects, sounds, and projections, we tell this true story of survivors from Berlin.

“Thank you very much for this valuable play/performance about coming to terms with the past. I am sure that this play has finally given my students access to this difficult yet very topical subject. Much of it was explained so well in simple language that everyone could easily follow and understand it. I highly recommend it to everyone.” (Teacher at the Geißenweide Elementary School)
